What is the Safe Neighborhood Program?
The Safe Neighborhoods Program provides assistance to Orange County’s older and transitioning neighborhoods. It was designed to assist residents in reclaiming their communities from crime, deterioration, and blight. The program partners citizens with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Government, the private sector, community stakeholders, and others to collaboratively preserve and stabilize neighborhoods. Community residents, business owners, and stakeholders will continue to work with Orange County leaders and staff to implement an update to the existing Tildenville Safe Neighborhood Action Plan. The Action Plan provides a profile of the community, demographic information, land use and zoning data, and information about the community’s infrastructure. The plan identifies the community’s core issues and then recommends projects and programs to address them.

The Tildenville team bring together residents by planning community meetings and special events.
Blight and Traffic
Developing events like clean-ups and informative feedback workshops to combat litter and traffic concerns.
Homelessness and Poverty
Sharing resources for struggling families in the area to build support networks and connect to programs that can help combat homelessness.
Fundraising and Sponsorship Outreach
Coordinating sponsors and donors from neighboring businesses that want to support our community’s needs.
Education and Advocacy
Developing community meetings and bringing in speakers that can share information for residents to learn while advocating on the issues that matter most.
